How To Select a Startup - To Join or For Investment

  • Wharton San Francisco 2 Harrison Street San Francisco, CA, 94105 United States (map)

Join us for this unique opportunity to see an inside view on how venture investors evaluate a startup for investment. Watch selected startups present to investors. You'll get the opportunity to sit behind experts to watch and learn how each of them evaluates teams, business models, market size, risk, and more.  Whether you are a founder, future angel investor, or thinking about joining a startup and not sure of the risk, this session will help you formulate your process for how to evaluate startup opportunities. These are skills that will help you throughout your career. The session is part of our inaugural StartUp Catalyst Competition where we bring together investors to give feedback to startups. The top selected startups will receive warm introductions to investors and advisors that can help them move to the next stage. Format:  5 startups will be selected to present for 6 minutes each (3 minute pitch, minute 3 Q/A); with 5 minutes for deliberation by the panel of judges and time to chat with the startups/panel).
