We seek entrepreneurs interested in building businesses serving massive growth markets and tackling complex societal problems.  Application to this competition is free and open with no funding minimums or maximums to participate.  We welcome entrepreneurs and teams from across the globe to apply. We also have a strong interest in helping entrepreneurs and tech transfer offices across the globe spin out IP from universities and research labs and interested in connecting with Silicon Valley/San Francisco investors.  During our Demo Sessions at our summits,  we make in-person introductions to angel investors and venture capitalists including Bay Angels, Life Science Angels, Keiretsu Forum, Angel List, Wharton Angels, etc.. and leading venture firms that have participated in our summits in the past. We provide on-going coaching sessions (virtual) to help selected start-ups prepare for our bi-annual presentation/demo summits with investors.  We make available the 30-60 second video pitches to investors on a regular basis in case investors want to reach out directly and faster.

The process:  The submissions are sent to our venture catalyst consulting team to select the best 30-60 second pitches to forward to investors. Those that get interest will get a followup from our team for coaching to ensure the executive summary and presentation deck are ready for virtual presentation to a panel of judges.  Based on the recommendations of the judges, startups are selected from this group to be invited to present to investors during our next in-person Catalyst Cup - Startup Competition held at our next summit where we bring together investors and startups. The top selected startups will receive warm introductions to investors and advisors that can help them move to the next stage.

Which stage are you raising money for?
Prior to introducing you to investors at one of our sessions, we provide coaching and feedback to promising start-ups on how to improve their pitch, executive summary, and pitch deck. Coaching is provided by Wharton alumni, MBA students, and experienced advisors to help startups prep before being selected to present to investors. Coaching sessions are provided quarterly. In what area do you need coaching?
What, Why, How
Link to your private 30-60 pitch (youtube, vimeo, etc..). Just film yourself on your mobile phone or have a friend film you. A good video pitch can open lots of doors.
Link to your executive summary on dropbox, box, google, etc.. Try to keep the same link if you update the summary as advisors, investors, and due diligence teams will refer to this.
Often investors like to connect with and support entrepreneurs and IP from their alma mater. We try to make this match whenever possible.
Who referred you? Highest priority given to entrepreneurs referred by other entrepreneurs in our network and investors (that have invested or made a commitment to invest in you).
